What Hayden has accomplished in less than 4 weeks

Bonding with dad

Lots of pictures
Hanging out with grandparents

A trip to Kirtland, Ohio with Uncle Braden and Aunt Kaely

A flight from Detroit to Las Vegas! (We should've taken pictures of that adventure)
A baby blessing in conjunction with Uncle Nate's farewell

I can't believe that Hayden is 4 weeks old! We have been in UT for the last week and will be here another week. It's been wonderful to be with family!

Hayden Mitchell Hunter

March 8, 2010
3:33pm
7 lbs. 13 oz.
20 1/2 in.

It's been a crazy couple of days, but Hayden is here and we are SO HAPPY!
He came out really fast, so his face was pretty bruised. Craig called him "Blue Man Group," and his nickname in the nursery was "Bruiser."
Yesterday morning he started having trouble breathing, so they put him in the NICU. He is still there but will hopefully come home tomorrow. We can't wait to get him home!
Here are some more pictures...

Human Anatomy

A month or so ago, Addy was very inquisitive about what Craig does as a Urologist (she pronounces it "Rurologist") I explained to her about the urinary system and told her about the bladder, kidneys and urethra. Lately, she has been very interested in anatomy, and HAD to check out a book from the library about Horse Anatomy.
Well, this morning she drew this picture and presented it to Craig. It is a representation of the skeletal system and the urinary system. She said that there are bones on the eyes. The round thing is the bladder. When Craig asked her what the line between the legs was she said, "it's you going pee."
We may have another doctor in the family!

Hopes Mischief

From the 2009 family video comes a highlight clip of Hope's Mischief.

For the record, the majority of these videos were taken while Craig was home babysitting the girls. I would not have let some of these acts occur or I would have stopped them much sooner!

Pregnancy Update and THE BEARD

-I am 33 weeks along and feeling 3rd trimesterish
-I have an induction date for MARCH 10th!
-I started NST's and BPP's twice a week. Last Thursday, my appointment took 3 hours! Hayden wouldn't cooperate. He was either "too active," or "too sleepy." It's going to be a long 6 weeks.
-My friends here in the Bloomfield Hills 1st ward are giving me a shower on Tuesday. They are so nice. I'm very excited!
-Hayden weighs approximately 4.5 lbs. As you can see, his face is filling out!

Craig forgot his shaver when we went on our trip to California, so when we got home a week later; this was the result. Addy begged him to shave it all the way home from the airport. She later learned what a "whisker pie" was. The beard is still thriving, only now it is a goatie.

Best Vacation Ever!

You sure learn to appreciate the sun when you are living without it! I've never enjoyed San DIego so much. We used to vacation there a lot and I always enjoyed it, but this time, it was like a true paradise!

Early New Year's Eve we flew out of a Detroit blizzard to land in a sunny San Diego.

Here are some memorable things from our trip:
-Hope running off the airplane, weaving in and out of people, into a gift shop, shoplifting and breaking 2 necklaces, and trying to hitch a ride on a lady's wheeled suitcase.

-Me, wondering why I was still carrying around my parka after a couple of hours in CA

-Arriving at our beach house with the most beautiful view of the ocean EVER!

-Having my whole family together

-Playing Buzz Words, Hearts, and SCUM with the sibs

-Sleeping through the New Year's Eve festivities, then waking long enough to pull my confetti popper

-Hope's new words: "Sam," "Kiki" (Kaely), "Date" (Nate). She also has learned "purple", and "yellow" since being in St. George with Grandma Juanita

-Avatar in 3D...Hope slept for almost the whole movie!

-Addy's sea shell finding contest

-Our giant sea sand turtles, and lots of strangers taking pictures of them. They were pretty impressive!

-Roasting marshmallows with the Cope's

-Mitchell Family 5K! Dallin won and I came in dead last!

-Our video scavenger hunt. This included getting a runner to stop and do push-ups and jumping jacks, a couple kissing, having a bum tell a joke, marine life, something squishy, teaching a stranger "Once there was a Snowman," giving away $20.00 in service, etc. Our team split our 20 into $1 bills and handed them out on the pier. It was so funny to have people turn us down! Most people took it gratefully though.

-Sarah and Rob's visit from Chula Vista and meeting their darling new baby girl, Grace

-A day in Disneyland

-The drive home with Nate throwing up the whole way, and Braden's drive shaft falling out!

Thanks mom and dad for an awesome vacation! The memories will last forever.

Merry Christmas!

This was an anticipated year for Christmas. After nine years of marriage, this was the first Christmas to be spent without immediate family. It turned out to be a blast. Christmas eve we spent with the Elliot family at the home of some close friends the Williams family. We had a great dinner. We enjoyed about every moment, except Hope couldn't stay off the table. She's loves getting on the table. Don't know what to do about that. (I hope she doesn't get any funny ideas about that):

We had a nativity, Hope was an angel (shaw!), Addy was Mary, David Williams was Joseph, and Hailey Elliot was the donkey carrying Mary. We also played a sweet sack game that Aubree and I lost. We simply put a brown paper sack on the ground. The object was to stand on one foot, bend over and pick up the bag with your teeth. Then you keep trimming the bag down. The winner is who can pick up the bag at its lowest point. We didn't last long. One of us has a big belly and the other is pregnant.

Christmas morning was also really nice. Aubree and I got to 7 am and couldn't wait any longer so we woke up Addy. The first thing she said was "are we gonna iChat with Nanna and Papa (Mitchell)?" She awoke and saw what Aubree has been working hard to make:

A rad playhouse the girls can play in. It didn't take Addy long to commandeer it, and move much of her stuff in. Hope is now supposed to stay out.
She sewed it herself along with some long hours and help from Mary Williams. Mary's can be found at http://www.markandmarywilliams.blogspot.com

Christmas day we got to spend with the Rigsby's.

(Aubree, Addy, Hope, and Summer)
They have also become our family away from home. We just ate, loafed, played video games, ate, snacked, played more video games, snacked ect...
This Christmas season was different, but the company of such fun and great people made it all the better. Maybe one of the best Christmas' ever.
