Our Summer in a Nutshell

I can't believe I haven't posted all summer. It's definitely been a hectic one, full of fun, fear, fretting, and faith. How's that for alliteration?
So, here are a few highlights.
UTAH
1. We flew to Utah on standby at the beginning of July. We spent 12 lovely hours in the Kansas City airport...me and the 3 kids...eeek, I'm having flashbacks.
2. We had a FUN 4th weekend with our friends the Adams and Greens. They got us good with their prank of sending us to a beat up, run down house with an invitation to come in... HAHA! We'll get you back!
3. We saw most of Craig's family at a last minute reunion at the Pizza Factory
4. Spent some time with Grandma Barb and Grandpa Gib. We miss you!
5. Pine Valley with Grandma Farol
6. Lake Powell for 4 days with Mitchell's, Freis, Berry's, and Copes
7. It was great seeing everyone. It was nice just hanging with my family. The kids LOVED it all!
8. Missing a few flights out of SLC, hanging at Ali's, spending the night with Sam's family (thank you, thank you!)
MICHIGAN
1. Flying into Michigan straight to appointments with our realtor to find a new house
2. A visit from Grandma Farol and a trip to Mackinac Island, renting bikes, a fun trip!
3. After much deliberation MOVING to a new rental condo. We love it and are very happy here!
4. Days at the BEACH

5. Days at the TRACK...lots of running prepping for St. George October 2nd! The kids are very innovative while playing there.

6. Losing the transmission in the Lexus (on the freeway with all kids), selling Lexus and Voyager, buying our SWAGGER Wagon.

We are finally feeling settled and happy. Craig's work is slowing down a tad bit, although we still wish we could see him more!
Addy will turn 7 in September, I can't believe it! She lost 3 teeth this summer--the bottom tooth pulled by Dad in Utah, the top front tooth pulled by Mom just before moving, and the other was a molar extracted by the dentist.

Hope is as crazy as ever. She runs faster than any 2 year old I've ever seen. She's teaching Hayden how to wrestle!

Hayden is growing and smiling constantly. He is the BEST baby. I love him to pieces. He is 5 months old--he sits up but still tips over once in a while. He laughs at his sisters when they are acting crazy, he likes baby food, but may be allergic to sweet potatoes or bananas. He broke out in a rash after eating those...

Life is good. We are looking forward to our next trip to Utah for the Marathon and Dallin and Sam's wedding! Hooray!
Just now as I was publishing this post, I heard Hope wake up and start walking around--at 12:30 at night. She wandered in here and said, "will you read me a book, please." It was the cutest thing ever. She fell on our walk to the park this evening and did a number on her forehead, nose, knees and hands. I couldn't resist snapping her picture. I love this girl.

Happy Birthday Dear Hopee!

Hopee is 2 now! Here are some pictures of her polka dot party with Kate!

Field Trip to the Zoo

My mom and I took went along on Addy's field trip to the Detroit Zoo. I'm so glad my mom was there! Hope thought it was a running event. It was pouring rain on the way there and we worried we were going to get soaked, but it cleared up just as we got there and it was a beautiful day!

This is Addy and her friend Daniella. They are like 2 peas in a pod!

Hayden slept through it all.

This was Hope's favorite animal, she would fit right in with that habitat!

Good thing for the ambitious kindergardeners willing to capture free running animals.

Memorial Weekend Camping

We went camping on Memorial Weekend to the Wirthlin Farm. It was beautiful, fun and relaxing! Craig felt at home driving the tractor around the farm. Addy was a entertained by the tire swing, shooting guns, and exploring the farm. I enjoyed all the junk food and relaxing in the hammock. Hayden slept better than he has ever slept before, 9 hours straight! We all slept like logs and didn't wake until 9am. It was the best!

Here's Addy Oakley!

Poor David had allergies and a bit of a benedryl slump on the way home.
